Our Story

When Zoe was just 6 years old, she and her mother, a formerly incarcerated mother of seven, founded a lemonade stand business during the pandemic after her mother was fired and the family was facing homelessness. What started as a simple cute idea quickly became a powerful story of resilience, determination, and love. Together, they navigated the challenges of starting a business, using the experience to teach Zoe valuable lessons in entrepreneurship and perseverance.

This journey not only helped them bond but also provided Zoe with the opportunity to experience homeownership, stability and a strong foundation for her future, demonstrating that with support and determination, any obstacle can be overcome. By actively engaging in Zoe’ business ventures, her mother aimed to provide stability, guidance, and positive reinforcement for financial literacy. Zoe's mother understood that early intervention was crucial in helping her child break the stigma of children with a incarcerated parent.

Zoe’s mother had a vision to break the cycle of poverty for children by writing a financial literacy workbook to help other families achieve success.  As a formerly incarcerated person, she understands firsthand the barriers that having a felony on your record can impact the family. Walking beside my 10-year-old daughter in her business endeavors is not just about supporting her entrepreneurial spirit but also about early intervention to mitigate the negative effects of my past. Today, Zoe’s Lemonade Stand Kid Business Workbook is sold online and locally at community events.

Our dream is to own a lemonade cafe where kids can come drink lemonade, read books and learn financial literacy skills.
